Leave the diner and go back to the Asylum to continue the quest line with Sibling Rivalry. If Therese is on the other end Jeanette will take the opportunity to beg for your help just before she hangs up. Each will blame the other for setting you up and ask you to meet them at the Asylum. Either Jeanette or Therese will be in the other end depending on who likes you more. Once the thugs have been dealt with for ( +2 Exp) go to the back of the diner again and answer the phone.
(in the plus patch, the diner is empty except for the thugs.) Feeding and Disciplines will go unnoticed. The other diner inhabitants are too afraid to pay much attention. Kill them and don't worry too much about the masquerade.
As soon as you reach the back booth the thugs will open fire. Otherwise, head to the back of the diner like Therese told you to. Avoiding the fight will prevent the player from picking up dropped weapons and ammo, however. It costs one blood point and requires one point in dementation. You can Persuade him to leave you alone if your persuade skill is four or Intimidate him to back down if your intimidate skill is three. If you have the plus patch and don't want to fight them speak to the one in the green shirt. When you enter there will be four thugs to your left.
